Morgon Les Charmes

Extending over 1,100 ha, the Morgon appellation is one of 10 crus in the north of Beaujolais. It is one of the most powerful wines and undoubtedly the one that ages the best. With the years the aromas evolve; Morgon ends up resembling a Burgundy wine: it is said that it “Morgonne”.

Terroir : poor, acidic soil on decomposing granite with a vein of manganese schist. Vineyard : average age of the vines 40 years, pruning in traditional goblets, high density of 9,000 vines / ha. Manual harvest fully developed by a team of 25 people

Vinification & Aging

Vinification: whole harvest (berries + stems), long fermentation (12 to 15 days) with pumping over, unballasting and punching down to ensure excellent balance and good aging potential. Aging in stainless steel vats for 12 months in the cellar.

Tasting note

Beautiful ruby color. The nose is frank, revealing aromas of small red fruits.
The palate is balanced, with a lot of substance and rich in tannins. The fresh fruits are present, raspberry, blackcurrant, cherry. Flavours of red fresh fruits stay long on the palate, changing to ripe fruits as the wine ages, becoming increasingly delicate after 2 or 3 years Good length in the mouth.

Tasting note

Deep ruby color. The nose is frank, spicy and vanilla, with aromas of morello cherry and undergrowth.
The palate is balanced, suave, with a lot of substance and rich in melted tannins. Ripe fruits, cocoa, wood smoke and spices will come with further ageing. The aromas of ripe fruit are very present, with notes of vanilla, cocoa spices.

Extending over more than 4,200 ha, Beaujolais-Villages extends over a vast territory from the south of Brouilly to the north of Saint Amour.
The wines reveal the wonderful freshness of the Gamay grape. They are full of delicacies, fruity, with aromas of fresh berries, such as raspberries, strawberries and blackberries.

Vinification in whole harvest (berries + stems), short fermentation (5 to 8 days) with pumping over and punching down to ensure the balance of the cuvée
Aging: in cement vats for 6 months in the cellar. Storage in inert stainless steel tank at the end of aging before bottling.

Tasting note

Purple color with purplish nuances. The nose is very aromatic, revealing aromas of small red fruits characteristic of the Gamay grape.
The palate is round and fresh, with nice fine tannins. We find in the mouth the basket of fresh fruits: fresh, raspberry, cherry.

Fleurie

The Fleurie cru extends over an elegant terroir of pink granite of around 800 ha. It is the most floral, the most feminine of the wines.
The aromas of red fruits characteristic of Gamay, are complemented by floral notes of iris and subtle fragrances of violets. Fleurie is a flowing, floral wine, full of gaiety and gallantry!
